How many ventilators are needed to save lives during pandemic⁉

According to a medical article, roughly 2.5% of people with COVID-19 will need a ventilator.

 

As per updated on June 2021, there are total around 84k active cases, and by simple calculation, we need to get ready with 2.1k ventilators for the worst case (as per Jan 2021, there were total 1.5k ventilators available).
