Polyethylene terephthalate (PETE or PET) is the most commonly used thermoplastic polymer in the world and is better known in the textile industry by the trade name “polyester”. It is lightweight, strong, transparent and impact resistant. And one of its major physical properties is its resistance and barrier properties to various gasses like oxygen, carbon dioxide and water-vapour.
PET is FDA approved and is recyclable. It is widely used for mineral water bottle and carbonated soft drinks bottle, blister packaging and fabrics for textile industry
